I used Flower Spot for my wedding on 12/29/2014 which was recommended to me by my photographer (Catherine Coons). I should note that we had a small wedding so I didn't require anything extreme or ornate, however, the boutonnieres, corsages, and bouquet were just as I had pictured - Simple yet elegant. And I would highly recommend the delivery option! Even with a small order like mine they still delivered!! And it it gave me one less thing to do on my big day.

After interviewing four different florists we chose Lisa for our bridesmaid's luncheon, wedding ceremony and reception. Her pricing was affordable and her wonderful, friendly personality made her a pleasure to work with. She listened to our ideas and put her own creative spin on them resulting in amazingly beautiful floral displays that guests are still talking about. Our expectations were surpassed and we are so grateful for everything Lisa did to make the planning process easy and enjoyable.

The Flower Spot provided flowers for a recent 2nd marriage held at The Knickerbocker Estate. Their flowers and service were really outstanding. It is clear Lisa went above and beyond to deliver to the bride and grooms expectations. From all the service providers the only challenge came when the caterers had no room to place the bread baskets upon the tables because the centerpieces were so luscious and large....a good problem to have we can all agree! As the property manager for The Knickerbocker Estate we continue to recommend The Flower Spot without reservation to our other brides looking to host their special day at The Knickerbocker of Naples.

Lisa at Flower Spot completely 'got' our vision of what we wanted for our elegant, traditional wedding at The Club at the Strand on May 23rd, 2014. We found Flower Spot at a Bridal Expo and immediately liked the family business feel of a mother-daughter team. Lisa was easy to work with and gave our ceremony and very romantic feel with white roses, rose petals, and floating candles down the aisle. The ballroom totally came to life with tall hurricane vases filled with curly willow and huge bunches of white hydrangeas and roses on top. The bouquets for my bridesmaids and myself were perfect; she even attached an antique brooch given to me by my grandmother on the wrapped stems of my bouquet. My favorite was an adorable wreath/head piece of spray roses she created for my flower girl. We were extremely pleased with Flower Spot. Thank you for helping to make our wedding beautiful!

I wanted a simple bouquet with, of course, my favorite flowers--yellow tulips. Yellow tulips mean "there is sunshine in your smile" and when I saw my bouquet for the first time, I did just that! The Flower Spot also wrapped my Bridesmaids silk bouquets and they looked charming. After my wedding, I called them to see if they knew anyone who preserved flowers and they were able to help me with this as well. The ladies are truly wonderful to work with!

I had a floral credit from the Hilton Naples to use and they directed me to Flower Spot to use it. Lisa helped us there and she was great! This was a destination wedding so I met her about 5 months before the big day and from then on she kept in touch with me through email. They were very flexible and really listened to the type of arrangements I wanted. I originally asked for coral roses and gerber daisies. The week of the wedding the got the flowers in and they were more orangy then expected. Lisa contacted me and asked if I wanted to come in and choose something different or trust their judgement. I decided to trust their judgement and so glad I did because they turned out beautiful! My bridesmaids dresses were navy so the orangy color really popped against them!

Leslie at the Flower Spot was wonderful for our wedding. The centerpieces came out AMAZING! Not only that, but they were the least expensive of all the florists we saw in Naples, but their quality was not lacking. They were all very nice and catered to our exact details. It was beautiful. The flowers were fresh and the colors gorgeous. I'm not sure why there are not many reviews on them, but we were extremely satisfied with the results. Don't hesitate to hire them for your wedding.

Flower Spot was great to work with! Lisa knew exactly what I had in mind. When I saw my flowers for the first time I was speechless! I had lace from my moms wedding dress to wrap on my bouquet and charms for all of the bridesmaids, everything turned out perfect!

Flower Spot is a family owned florist in Naples, Florida and they did a fabulous job on our wedding flowers! I met with several florists in Naples and only Flower Spot was able to provide gorgeous flowers within our budget. Lisa and Leslie were incredibly responsive and open to any and all new ideas! They do not have a lot of flowers in their shop, so it helps to bring pictures of what you're thinking of or just trust their expertise! Our bouquets were PERFECT as were the church arrangements and the reception table centerpieces. Flower Spot did all of their own delivery and set-up for a small fee and were even willing to add limes and ribbons to our arrangements. They were flexible with last minute changes like earlier delivery times for the bouquets and extra flowers for our cake. My only complaint was with our boutinierres :( The groomsmen had orchids that fell apart within an hour (the center of the flowers fell right out!) and the other boutinierres came with only one pin and flipped upside down the whole evening. I don't blame Flower Spot for all of these problems, but would recommend that future brides go with different flowers that are more durable. It would have helped to have more guidance as to what flowers are best for boutinierres! Overall, Flower Spot was AMAZING and made our wedding so beautiful. They were quick to respond to emails and I totally trusted that they would follow through with all requests on our wedding day. I can't wait to get our pictures back, so I can see the flowers again! I would HIGHLY recommend them to other brides!!

I highly recommend Lisa at Flower Spot! Even though there was a slight mixup with the flower color for my ceremony arch, everything still worked out wonderfully and I was very happy with the value for the money we spent. I also received many compliments throughout the reception on how beautiful the flower arrangements were. Lisa did a wonderful job at turning my vision into a reality for my wedding day and I can't be more grateful.

We chose The Flower Spot to do the flowers for our wedding at the La Playa Beach & Golf Resort. After looking at their work on-line, I worked with the Flower Spot via e-mail & phone to choose my bridal bouquet, bridesmaids bouquets, reception center pieces, aisle decor and place settings. We are from New York and decided to use them never meeting them in person until our wedding day. I was a little nervous, but couldn't have been more pleased. Everything was absolutely perfect. The flowers were gorgeous and I received numerous compliments on everything. It was a huge risk, but I would recommend anyone to the Flower Spot for there wedding or any occasion. They are educated and extremely talented. For anyone from out or even in town planning a wedding... choose the Flower Spot and you will not be disappointed! Thank you Leslie for everything, you did an amazing job!

"Take Time to Catch the Falling Leaves"

Autumn is a season for rich, vibrant colors, raking leaves, and that cool, crisp autumn smell in the air. It’s a time for some of us to head back to school and for sports fans to gear up for the World Series and pro football. The autumn season has its own style of flowers, too, with classic fall colors and autumn arrangements. Are you thinking about sending flowers, or buying some for yourself this fall? Whether you’re looking for a centerpiece, home decor accents or the perfect gift for someone special, consider these fall flower ideas:

Sunflowers
With its golden petals and earth-toned center, the sunflower exudes autumn warmth. Its sheer size always makes a statement, bringing good cheer to all who see it. Consider giving a bouquet of sunflowers or an arrangement that combines them with other blooms such as A Perfect Day. Floral Embrace is a symphony of sunflowers, roses, lilies and alstroemeria in a classic clear glass cylindrical vase. Any one of these sunflower-inspired arrangements is sure to impress family or friends and dress up any room in your home.

 Daisies
Daisies are another versatile flower choice that brings a breath of fresh air in autumn. Daisies and their cousin the aster feature radiating bright petals and can bloom in a variety of sizes and colors. A Delightful Daisy arrangement combines white and yellow daisies in an attractive glass cube; Fall for Daisies blends gold and burgundy blooms. You might also consider an impactful Autumn Gerbera Daisies bouquet to celebrate the season, or the Because You’re Special bouquet with orange daisies, pink mini carnations and yellow and green poms.

Lilies
While lilies can be associated with springtime and the Easter season, they are also a great choice for an autumn arrangement. Lilies come in a wide variety of colors and markings and are a delight to behold; they also look great blended with other autumn flowers. A Golden Crown design blends bright yellow lilies with purple dendrobium orchids and white hydrangea. The Perfect Day bouquet combines star gazer lilies with orange spray roses, yellow alstroemeria, pink gerbera daisies, blue hydrangea, and lush greens in a beautiful glass vase. It’s not to late to send the sunny, ornate Sunshine Squared bouquet, either, which features features tiger lilies, sunflowers, hydrangea, gerbera daisies and roses.

Whether it’s for back to school, an autumn birthday, Thanksgiving or any other autumn occasion, flowers say it best. An autumn arrangement is also the perfect accent for your home decor. Don’t delay; order an autumn bouquet today!

The Sunshine State just got Brighter!
The Orange Blossom <3

When people think of Florida, they conjure up images of sunshine, beaches and, of course, Florida oranges. It may come as little surprise then, that the state flower of Florida is none other than the orange blossom, the flower of the orange fruit tree.
Florida is the largest producer of oranges in the United States. Each spring, the scent of countless flowering orange blossoms fills the air in parts of central and southern Florida. The orange tree is an evergreen that reaches heights of 20-30 feet and grows in full sun and in sandy soil. It thrives in Florida, thanks to its climate and typically abundant rainfall. The tree flowers in spring, producing white orange blossoms that are made up of five waxy petals and give off a sweet, fragrant scent. Months after the arrival of its blossoms, the orange tree bears its fruit, which is commonly called the sweet or navel orange.

Florida’s state flower has long been associated with good fortune. Bouquets and tiaras made with fragrant orange blossom flowers were a popular favorite of brides in the Victorian era. The blossoms’ ability to both bear flowers and produce fruit is said to represent fertility. Orange blossom season is also associated with good times. From 1925 to 1953, a passenger train named the “Orange Blossom Special” brought well-to-do vacationers to sunny Florida from New York, winding its way from Jacksonville to Miami. In the wintertime only, a section of the train trekked to Tampa and St. Petersburg, dropping winter-weary passengers off at resorts for restorative vacations.
The arrival of orange blossoms continues to be a cause for celebration for some Floridians. In Davie, a small town north of Miami, flower lovers celebrate the arrival of the Florida state flower with the Orange Blossom Festival. The three-day rodeo and music event celebrates Florida’s agricultural history. Beyond its attractiveness and romantic image, Florida’s state flower is also commercially valuable. Products made from the flowers include an essential oil that is sometimes used in natural skin care products and in aromatherapy. Honeybees make a favorite product from the flower: orange blossom honey. Its orange flavor and mild taste make it a popular treat.

A Penny for Your Thoughts on Fresh Flowers

Is a copper penny the right choice to keep cut flowers fresh? Or is the little packet of flower food? An aspirin? What water temperature is best? What is the trick that will triple the lifespan of cut flowers?
Often folk tips are based on good science. Learn about what works and what doesn’t, and why.
Copper Penny, Aspirin, and Other Alternatives to Chemical Flower Food
The little packet of flower food are bactericides that kill the bacteria, yeasts, and fungi.
Here are tips of reaching this same goal without the chemicals:
* Copper is a fungicide and acts to preserve the water from too many yeasts and fungi.
* Aspirin is an acid and helps to kill bacteria overgrowth.

* Add 2 tablespoons lemon juice or vinegar to 1 quart of water. The idea here is the same as with aspirin, since lemon juice and vinegar are acidic.

Other Guidelines To Keep Fresh Flowers Fresh

* Place cut flowers in cold water, not warm! Warm water dehydrates flowers.
* Placing cut flowers in the refrigerator for six hours before arranging them will triple their lifespan.
* Hot water–up to 110-200 F–is recommended to restore very wilted flowers (the hotter water is for the more wilted flowers).
* Except for when you are cooling flowers, when you want cold water to cover the stems of the flowers, there is no need to have the water go higher on the stems then six inches.
* Recut the stems every few days.
* Remove all leaves and foliage below the water line.
